Extinct Attraction Day 4: Kitchen Kabaret
This show opened with the Land Pavilion at EPCOT in October, 1982 and was sponsored by Kraft. It was a musical designed to educate and was developed by Imagineers Rolly Crump, Steve Kirk, and Jeff Burke. The entrance to the show was located where the Soarin’ queue stands today. It featured several songs written by Scott Hennesy and Buddy Baker. The host, and only human character in the show, was Bonnie Appetit who, along with the items in her kitchen, sang about the four main food groups. Kitchen Kabaret closed on January 3,1994 and was replaced by Food Rocks. Why? Mainly because the sponsor changed from Kraft to Nestle, but also because the theory of the four food groups had been replaced with the food pyramid.
